I love poster art. I’ve collected film posters for about 20 years, and still find movie posters a fascinating example of advertising and art. Well, that should be the case when the posters are good !
Thought I’d post some new movie posters for you to feast your eyes upon. Oh yeah, and next week, I might just give away some of my classic movie posters. But you know what that means, you are going to have to work for it. Leave me a comment here on the blog, and let me know this…
If you could have any poster from a movie made in the 1980’s, what would it be? Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to hook you up! Check out the new posters below for Sherlock Holmes, Daybreakers and Rob Zombie’s Halloween II. And don’t forget to let me that comment about your most sought after poster from the 1980’s!

Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law star in SHERLOCK HOMES, directed by Guy Ritchie. In theaters December 25, 2009!

Ethan Hawke stars in DAYBREAKERS as a researcher in a near future where a plague has turned everyone into vampires. In theaters January 8, 2010!

Michael Myers has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town's got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable. In theaters August 28, 2009! Follow on Twitter @H2_TheMovie

Can’t wait to see Sherlock Holmes, although I had hoped it would be a little darker than the trailer suggests… But I’ll watch just about anything with Robert Downey Jr. He’s one of my all time favorite actors.

Robert Downey, Jr. just gets sexier as he gets older. He is one of those few actors for me that makes every movie better. He’s in a new movie…I’m buying a ticket!

My favorite 80’s movie poster is from Night of the Creeps. Almost impossible to get ahold of anymore.

I love that movie, and I think I actually have not one of those, but maybe 2!

The poster for Return of the Jedi, the one with a single hand and light saber. I kept it for 20+ years and because I don’t have any place to hang it now, I gave it to my Star Wars freak cousin. I can’t believe I did that. That was the coolest poster ever.

I’m going to comment on posters I think my daughter would most want since she loves movie posters for her wall. 80’s film posters would have be The Breakfast Club or Pretty in Pink. One I did think of for myself would be A Christmas Story – I saw that when I was googling images of movie posters trying to even remember what movies came out in that decade I might want a poster of besides a Star Wars or Indiana Jones one. I need to go watch the trailer for Daybreakers.
